  • Mette Magler Bowen

    Mette Magler Bowen is the 2015 recipient of NACC Chicago Chapter Member of the Year Award. She is a native of Oslo, Norway, and immigrated to the US in 1967.  During her time in the US she has given time, as her daughter once described, being a “professional Norwegian”.  She has or is currently serving on the boards of Nordic Fest, Decorah, IA; Decorah, IA, Chamber of Commerce; Lake Forest, IL Chamber of Commerce; NACC Chicago Chapter, two terms as the president; Norwood Crossing; and Vesterheim, The National Norwegian-American Museum & Heritage Center.  She is a retired Real Estate Broker, and earlier […]

  • Martha Gesme Nielsen

    Martha grew up in Cedar Rapids, IA and graduated from Luther College in 1979. She is 100% Norwegian and 5 generations American. Her ancestors came from Valdres, Voss, Sogn and Telemark in the mid and late 1800s. This year Martha will celebrate 30 years working for SAS here in Chicago! As Sales Manager, her territory extends from Arizona and Texas in the south to Minnesota and Michigan in the north.
